Lompoc Valley Flower Festival packed with surprises

by webdev

June 28, 2011

The Lompoc Valley Flower Festival in California took place this past weekend for the 59th annual show according to the news channel, KSBY-TV.

The show is full of summer flower arrangements and displays, and for many it has become a tradition to attend this annual event, even though there was a $3 charge for the first time in the festival's history, the news source reports.

There was an exciting difference to this year's summer flower showcase, however. According to the Lompoc Record, there was also a flash mob that broke out during the festival this past Saturday. All of the participants gathered around the front stage and danced.

The choreographer, Sabrina Ross, organized the flash mob. Ross told the source why she thought the festival would be the best place, and we have to agree - what better setting than to have a backdrop of beautiful summer flowers?

"I thought it was a great idea because Lompoc doesn't have a huge public venue like a mall and the festival is by far one our largest local events."
