Summer continues to heat up towns and cities all over the globe, and the flower shows continue to be in abundance. Whether it is a huge show with various florists and gardens, or a small event with tropical flowers decorating a few flower beds, they are still brightening many people's days this season.

According to BBC News, the Parish of St. Helier received the gold award for their flower bed in the contest. This was the second consecutive year that they have won this recognition. They are now looking forward to the Battle of Flowers in August.

"We needed the gold to keep us going because you do feel a bit dejected in the rain, not that silver is a bad medal but gold gives you the impetus to keep going," Dale Hector, a team member, told the news source.

In Lynn, England, the Burnhams flower show and carnival took place on July 9th, and was a success. The event was filled with tropical flower arrangements, food, craft stations, cookery and a performance from a local steel band, according to Lynn News.
